Larry’s China is a Chinese themed restaurant, currently hosting the Noodles Festival at Vivanta Ambassador by Taj.
Much like the last time, we were graciously greeted by the restaurant manager Mr Pankaj Tiwari, who on our arrival lead us to Larry’s China. On making sure we were comfortable, we were then introduced to the Noodle Festival, which was operating currently in full swing.
After much pondering, we kickstarted the meal off with a complimentary Kimchi and Cantonese Salad. We’d highly recommend Lotus Stems in Honey Chilli sauce and Larry’s Tiger Sesame Prawns as entrèes. They were both cooked to perfection and were just right in terms of balance, flavour and texture; and we’d be more than happy to head back for some more. We also had Crispy Spinach which was appealing to the palette for someone who prefers those flavours.
For Main course, we sampled the most popular noodles from their ongoing Noodle Festival. We had both the Seafood and the Vegetarian Singapore Rice Noodles. The Seafood noodles didn’t fare so well on our list but the Vegetarian Noodles were bursting with several robust flavours and was something that we thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered some Plain Hofan Vegetable Noodles with Diced Potatoes in Kung Pao gravy and Diced Chicken in Chilly mustard sauce. The plain hofan flat noodles were flat noodles tossed around with vegetables like broccoli and bell peppers and were quite scrumptious to say the least. The Potatoes in Kung Pao sauce and Chicken in Chilly Mustard sauce worked well as gravy accompaniments with the Noodles.
The food, along with the ambience which had a lot of attention to detail with additions like ancient Chinese Vases and mythological Chinese creatures/(gods?) carved out of wood placed at key points in the restaurant along with music that complimented the atmosphere, Larry’s China is definitely a place that will stay in our list of places to visit again.
We would highly recommend you guys to go take a taste of these noodles, before the festival comes to an end. With dishes that serve various palates, and an overall ambience that aids luxury dining, we’re very sure you guys would approve and enjoy this outing as much as we have!
